Welcome to the department of oral & maxillofacial surgery & implantology.
This department deals with exodontia, maxillofacial trauma, hard & soft tissue pathologies of maxillofacial region & other minor & major oral surgical procedures including orthognathic surgeries.

INFRASTRUCTURE:
 
The department is situated at first floor. The department has one fully equipped major Operation Theatre, one minor Operation Theatre, one implantology section, one undergraduate & one postgraduate section. And above all one 100 bedded, fully functional & fully equipped hospital is also associated with the department. Department has one professor, one associate professor, one reader, one lecturer & two tutors.

PATIENT CARE:

Our primary focus is on excellence in patient care. Extraction of tooth, minor oral surgical procedures like cystectomy, biopsies, minor trauma and alveoloplasties are done in out patient department in day care basis.
 Major surgeries like tumors, large cysts, maxillo-facial trauma & orthognathic surgeries are performed under general anesthesia in Shanti Devi Memorial Hospital.

EDUCATION:

Our main focus is on student’s education. Students come in this department in third year. They learn diagnosis, local anesthesia, extraction of teeth & minor surgical oral procedures. They also assist in major surgical cases like trauma, tumour surgeries & orthognathic surgeries.
